Multifaceted rewiring of the hepatic lipidome during proliferation and carcinogenesis - PART 2 (Human HCC - "Fatty Liver" background)
The scope of this project is to study, using state-of-the-art systems biology approaches integrating the changes in metabolomics, lipidomics and transcriptomics, changes in hepatocytes' metabolism occurring in human HCC. We focused on altered metabolic pathways including lipogenesis, fatty acid desaturation, and generation of phosphatidylcholine (PC) occurring in HCC vs. paired HCC-free tissue. Overall design: HCC samples and paired HCC-free tissues were collected during hepatectomy or transplant.
