Abstract: There is accumulating evidence that deterioration of oral health is associated with periodontal disease as well as increased risk for cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and pre-term birth. In this study, saliva samples were collected from four healthy volunteers, and the cleansing effect of acidic L-arginine on the biofilm formed by use of the human oral samples was evaluated by illumina-based 16S rDNA sequencing analysis.
