Timothy grass (phleum pratense) pollen extract was analyzed by 2D-DIGE and IgE/IgG immunoblots using pooled sera from allergic donors. Mass spectrometry of selected spots in combination with de-novo assembly of the whole Timothy grass pollen transcriptome identified 93 novel proteins that were tested for their ability to elicit an immune response.
